Nodex -Help & FAQ

Simple answers for common setup and support questions.

Quick answers for host setup, checks, actions, logs, local data, and premium features.

Connect

How do I add a host?

Enter the host, port, and SSH username. Port 22 is the normal default. Then run the connection test before finishing setup.

What SSH authentication works?

Nodex supports password authentication and imported private keys. The connection test needs real credentials, but you can save a server first and connect later.

Why did Nodex block my SSH connection after a server rebuild?

Nodex checks host keys. If the fingerprint changes, it stops and asks you to verify the new key before it reconnects.

Where do I manage trusted host keys?

Open Settings, then Tools, then Known Hosts. There you can review trusted keys, refresh the list, and remove old entries.

Check and act

How do refresh and checks work?

Pull to refresh on the overview screen. If you are connected, Nodex refreshes metrics. If you are disconnected, the same gesture tries to reconnect. A Stale state usually means the connection is still up but data needs a fresh pull.

Can I manage services from the app?

Yes. Nodex can show systemd units and lets you start, stop, restart, enable, and disable them. Those actions are premium, and some servers will ask for sudo unless you already have root or passwordless sudo.

What logs can I see?

Log Explorer can search journal logs by service, level, and text. Docker logs can also be searched by container name or ID. Container management and Docker workspace tools are premium features.

Logs, data and billing

What data stays on my device?

Nodex stores server details, trusted host decisions, and local metrics history on your device. Passwords, private keys, and any saved sudo password stay in Keychain-backed storage.

How do purchases work?

Premium is handled through Apple. Use the app to subscribe or restore purchases, and use Apple subscription settings to manage or cancel billing.
